Projects have included:

Turnkey Design, Build and Fit-out

Merit was awarded the £4m contract to deliver a new build fit-out construction project as Principal Contractor. Merit was the lead designer for architectural, civil and building, tool layout, MEP services and cleanrooms. The works also included for the construction of a new 1,400m warehouse building.
A portal steel-framed building with concrete floors and cladding design was chosen for the new build areas to enable a watertight building to be quickly erected for the workshop, cleanroom and office requirements. Pipework systems were prefabricated at our fabrication facility in Newcastle to minimise on-site activities. Flexible materials were also employed to reduce construction periods.

L&D Suite and Blood Investigation Lab

Following on from the design and build project, Merit was awarded further works to deliver the new learning and development suite and blood investigation lab. Works included the stripping out of redundant services from the existing area and the installation of services and fittings to accommodate the new laboratory and fit-out of the new L&D suite.

Verio Line Refurbishment

Merit was also contracted to undertake a further refurbishment project for LifeScan. This project included refurbishment and modifications to a number of existing rooms to enable a new Verio Line 3 manufacturing space. The scope of works included detailed design; strip out of redundant services; modification of existing rooms 2001 and 2010 to create new Verio Line 3; low humidity HVAC systems; internal fit-out; design and installation of all building services and IT infrastructure; and modification of various existing services.
