In 2022, Piramal set out to rapidly expand its manufacturing capabilities in Grangemouth, Scotland, and chose Merit as its trusted construction partner. As a global leader in Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) and bio-conjugate manufacturing, Piramal’s vision was to increase production capacity and meet growing demand.
To bring this vision to life, we used our highly-advanced FLEXI POD® platform, merging traditional construction techniques with cutting-edge Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). By integrating offsite-manufactured PODs and Pre-Assembled Modules (PAMs), we ensured a faster, more efficient build without compromising quality.
Spanning 7,000m² across three floors, the new facility includes state-of-the-art Grade C production areas, modern offices, and a high-tech Quality Control laboratory, all designed to support Piramal’s world-class pharmaceutical operations. The expansion boosts the site’s capacity by an impressive 80%, paving the way for the scale-up of commercial ADC manufacturing.
