Merit is currently delivering a new Community Diagnostics Hub (CDH) at Woking Community Hospital. This 500m2 facility, which will be connected to the existing hospital infrastructure, will house MRI and PET CT scanner suites, along with consultation rooms and a reception area.

The CDH facility represents a pivotal advancement for Woking Community Hospital and North West Surrey, offering enhanced diagnostic testing capacity including x-rays, ultrasounds, cardiac, and respiratory testing. This expansion aims to alleviate patient waiting times, ensuring timely access to crucial healthcare services.

Utilising advanced offsite construction methods, Merit is set to deliver this state-of-the-art facility in just nine months. Merit’s innovative approach allows simultaneous offsite and onsite work, enhancing project affordability and accessibility.

Merit will deploy its new UltraPOD® SFS Variant 6, representing the latest in construction innovation. This variant leverages Merit’s state-of-the-art roll former and panel line production system, enabling significant reductions in project timelines whilst enhancing affordability and accessibility. The V6 platform boasts BREEAM Excellent and EPC-A ratings, with energy consumption 69% lower than current CIBSE hospital benchmarks.

The project completion is scheduled for September 2024, showcasing Merit’s commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare infrastructure efficiently and effectively.
