Merit served as the Principal Contractor for the turnkey Design and Build refurbishment of the Compression suites within the Wockhardt Building 4 and 5. This comprehensive project spanned 1,500sqm, transforming previously unclassified spaces into state-of-the-art QC and Analytical laboratories that meet stringent GMP standards.

The project entailed extensive re-modelling, which included the establishment of a new cleanroom area, ground works, civil engineering as well as mechanical and electrical services. Each element of the design was thoughtfully crafted to optimise workflow and ensure compliance with industry standards. Our team conducted meticulous validation efforts in collaboration with the client’s Quality Assurance team, developing a comprehensive validation programme to guarantee adherence to GMP requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

A significant aspect of our approach was the utilisation of advanced BIM modelling technology. This facilitated an options appraisal that clearly outlined how floor works would integrate seamlessly across multiple levels, enabling the client to visualise potential impacts on existing infrastructure.

To ensure the project was completed within the designated timeline, our dedicated procurement team prioritised critical path tasks, effectively managing material supply to mitigate any potential delays. By leveraging our trusted supply chain, we ensured that all necessary components were sourced efficiently. Notably, the cleanroom construction and mechanical installations were executed by qualified Merit personnel, thereby upholding high quality and consistency across all aspects of the project.
